Whipped Honey Butter

whipped honey butter in glass bowl.

This light and fluffy honey butter is so simple to make and so divine to eat!

I love sauces, spices and marinades that take a simple dish to the next level. That is what this whipped honey butter does for your basic cornbread. If you want to make this dairy free, use a dairy free butter.

What You’ll Need:

  • butter (organic and unsalted)
  • honey
  • cinnamon
  • pure vanilla extract
  • Kosher salt

Making the Recipe:

This butter takes very little time to make, so long as you’ve softened the butter. Set it out the night before or the morning you plan to use it and let it soften on your counter top. Alternatively, you can soften it in the microwave, but be careful to just get it softened and not melt it!

Whip the butter with a hand mixer for about 2-3 minutes until it’s light and fluffy. Add in the other ingredients and whip again for another minute. Be sure you taste the butter and adjust the flavors to your taste. Some people may like it sweeter or want a little more spice or salt in the butter.

I recommend you store the butter on your countertop in an airtight glass container. It keeps soft this way. You can store it in the refrigerator, but it will harden. It still tastes delicious, but it won’t be soft and airy anymore.

Enjoy on some warm cornbread, toast, pancakes!

Description

This light and fluffy honey butter is so simple to make and so divine to eat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted grass-fed butter (or organic ghee)
  • 3 Tbsp. honey (or maple syrup)
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp. Kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Let the butter sit at room temperature to soften.
  2. Once the butter is soft, whip it in a bowl with an electric hand mixer until it’s fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add in the honey, vanilla, salt and cinnamon (if using) and beat another minute.

Notes

  • To keep soft, store at room temperature.
  • If storing in the refrigerator, let the butter come to room temperature and whip again, if needed, before serving.
  • If using ghee, you can whip the ghee first and add the remaining ingredients. Ghee is stored at room temperature.
  • Use non-dairy butter if vegan or dairy free options are needed.
