This gluten free apple crisp is simple to make and so delicious! It makes a perfect Fall dessert.
One of the things I love most about the fall season is going to the orchard for fresh apples, some apple cider and other treats of the season. This apple crisp recipe is something I look forward to making every year.
With only a handful of ingredients and about 10-15 minutes of prep time, it is one of the easiest desserts you can make. There is nothing better than the smells that waft through the house when it is baking!
What You’ll Need:
- apples
- organic brown sugar
- gluten free all-purpose flour
- gluten free rolled oats
- butter
- cinnamon
- nutmeg
Making the Recipe:
You’ll start by preheating the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
While the oven is heating, peel and dice the apples into 1 inch pieces. You can place the apples into the bottom of a baking dish as you dice them.
Next, melt the butter in a large mixing bowl. Add the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg to the butter. Mix well.
You will then add the dry ingredients to the butter brown sugar mixture. Stir all of the ingredients together until mixed well. Then, spread the topping out over the top of the apples.
Bake the crisp for 30 minutes. After it cools slightly, serve it with some ice cream or whipped cream with pure maple syrup.

Notes
- This crisp can be made with many different fruit options (strawberries, rhubarb, peaches, blueberries, etc.).
- Double the batch and cook the crisp in a 9×13 pan.
- You can make this with coconut oil or ghee instead of butter to make it lactose friendly or vegan, but the crisp topping will be a little flatter in consistency.
- Serve with some vanilla ice cream or with whipping cream made with pure maple syrup.
