Spices can make or break a dish. This homemade taco seasoning is full of flavor. It’s also free of the additives you typically get in store bought seasoning.
I use this seasoning mix in my chicken taco soup and as a rub on my baked chicken salsa dish. I also use it in place of a store bought seasoning when I make tacos.
You can make this seasoning in 5 minutes or less!

Making the Recipe:
Mix all of the spices together and mix. Put the spice mixture in an airtight glass jar and label it. I love to use the Ball 4oz. jelly jars for my spice mixes. They are a perfect size!

- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 1/2 tsp.cumin
- 1 tsp. sea salt
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. onion powder
- 1/4 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Mix all of the seasoning ingredients together and store in an airtight glass container
Notes
Omit the crushed red pepper, if you prefer your seasoning less spicy
