Refreshing Mint Smoothie

Refreshing Mint Smoothie | Real Food Well

This smoothie is refreshing, healthy and surprisingly good. It offers a balance of healthy carbs, protein and fats to keep you satisfied and nourished and dazzles your tastes buds!

When the month of March rolled around as a kid, I absolutely loved having a Shamrock shake. Back then, I didn’t really realize how much sugar and artificial ingredients there were in this treat.

I wanted to recreate that amazing minty flavor and creaminess I loved, but make a drink with real foods and better nutritional balance.

This smoothie is so easy to make and so delicious! I’m addicted to it right now!!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Avocado
  • Spinach
  • Banana
  • Ice
  • Protein Powder
  • Water
  • Mint – leaves, extract or food-grade essential oil

Making the Recipe:

Add all of your ingredients to a high-speed blender or a Nutribullet.

For the mint in this smoothie, you have 3 different options:

  • 2 Tbsp. minced fresh mint
  • 1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
  • 2 drops food grade peppermint or spearmint essential oil

Blend until smooth and cream. It’s that simple!

Description

This smoothie is refreshing, healthy and surprisingly good. It offers a balance of healthy carbs, protein and fats to keep you satisfied and nourished and dazzles your tastes buds!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/4 avocado
  • 1 cup spinach leaves
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh mint leaves (other options in notes)
  • 34 ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender or Nutribullet and blend until smooth.

Notes

  • Substitute 1/2 tsp. peppermint or spearmint extract or 2 drops of peppermint essential oil (labeled as safe for ingestion) in place of the mint leaves.
  • Use 1/2 of an avocado instead of a quarter, if you want to increase the fat content of the smoothie. You may need to add a little extra mint to balance out the flavor of the avocado, to your taste.
